Solubility of gas in a liquid

Henry's law
Application of Henry law
* To increase the solubility of co2 in soft drinks and soda water the water is sealed under high pressure.
* Scuba divers must cope with high concentration of dissolved gases while breathing air at high pressure underwater.
* At high altitude the partial pressure of oxygen is less than that at the ground level,  this leads to low concentration of oxygen in the blood and tissue of people living at high altitude.

Effect of temperature
Solubility of gases in liquid decreases with rise in temperature.
